Sculptor, painter and passionate about philosophy, Ludger Gerdes studied at the Art Academies of Münster and Düsseldorf between 1975 and 1982. He was an apprentice of the contemporary artist Gerhard Richter, questioning the dependence between modern art and exhibitions and museums.
