Enrique Barro. Memoria de Lápiz
February 1, 2025 — July 31, 2025
Galería Santa & Cole Ciudad de Mexico

As part of Art Week, we inaugurated the new monographic exhibition of Enrique Barro at the Galería Santa & Cole by Díez Company in Mexico City, where the pencil is the driving object of its discourse.
Through shavings, broken tips and sawdust Barro builds abstractions on paper, curvilinear paths of different colors. The result invites us to explore vibrant microcosms, where colors and shapes awaken a pure and essential contemplation of the marvelous transformation of everyday elements.

With Memoria de Lápiz, Enrique barro delves into each of the pencil tips that, chapter by chapter, sketch the story of our lives, highlighting all the edges, comings and goings, ups and downs through the use of the pencil—an instrument deeply rooted in our earliest memories. A learning tool that every child uses in their process of integrating into the world and that, in one way or another, also forms part of our own memory.
