A book among more books
Bib Luz 1986, Oscar Tusquets
Bib Luz was conceived to discern the spines of books on a shelf.
"If I place a lamp on a shelf, all the lower ones remain in shadow. Only by bringing the light source forward can I illuminate all the spines of the books. I then have a body with a stem and a small bulb at its tip. The body, which houses the transformer and the switch, must be able to be positioned anywhere on the shelf, take up little space, and go unnoticed. What can I imagine better than a book?"
Oscar Tusquets
Santa & Cole presents a definitive edition of Bib Luz alongside Oscar Tusquets. It now offers significant functional and electrical improvements along with new technology, but it has has maintained the poetic aura from which the lamp was conceived.
The book structure has an off-white and aluminium metal finishes to choose from. Its metallic arm, which includes an adjustable LED light, attaches to the book with a click. The incorporation of a well-sized LED source improves the optics and the light. Additionally, multiple units can be interconnected in series with a single wall plug, allowing compositions at different levels. Always with excellent results, non-dazzling for those observing the bookshelf.

Oscar Tusquets Blanca
Architect by training, designer by conviction, painter by vocation, and writer by desire to make friends, Oscar Tusquets is the prototype of the integral artist that the specialisation of the world has been driving toward extinction.
Born in Barcelona in 1941, he graduated as an architect from the Technical School of Architecture of the city while also attending the School of Arts and Crafts of Llotja. He worked in the studio of Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá alongside Lluís Clotet.
A member of the late Studio Per, he completed his first architectural projects with Lluís Clotet, including the Fullà house, the Georgina belvedere, and the house in Pantelleria. In 1975, he designed, together with his master and friend Salvador Dalí, the Mae West room of the Teatre-Museu in Figueres. At the explicit request of the Master, he was appointed Lifetime Trustee of the Gala — Salvador Dalí Foundation.
Twelve years later, In 1998, the great poet of light, Ingo Maurer, a friend of Oscar Tusquets, BD, and Santa & Cole, created a "version" of this lamp. He called it Oskar, as an amusing tribute to the source of his inspiration; something that surprised Tusquets and BD, the manufacturer of the original Bib Luz.
